On March 22, 2007, software developer ECOSS Inc. (Head Office: Tokyo, President: Chihiro Tsuyuki) will provide the free version of its business blog product “ECOSS Solutions M3 Blog (M3 Blog): Personal Edition” to the rental server hosting company Firstserver, Inc. (Head Office: Osaka, President: Ryosuke Okada). The new hosting service, known as “FS Developers Platform Express 2”, is a free service for evaluation purposes.
"M3 Blog" is a business blog system which allows users to post entries and images directly from Microsoft® Office products.
By incorporating "M3 Blog" as a standard feature of the free version of Firstsever’s “Express 2” hosting service, users can evaluate the merits of using an independent business blog site.(*Note 1)
ECOSS has also begun seeking distribution partners for its M3 Blog product.
installing the free "Add-in tool" (*Note 2), graphs and charts created in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint can be posted directly to the blog. The add-in is compatible with Office 2000 or later versions of the Office product.
Layouts can be changed via "drag and drop" on the browser interface, which allows easy layout change without knowledge of HTML tags.
The blog administrator can control a user group’s blog post and view settings using the permission control feature.
The "Express 2" version of "M3 Blog" can be used free of charge by individuals or groups. (This service cannot be used for commercial purposes.)
