Software developer ECOSS Inc. (Head Office: Tokyo, President: Chihiro Tsuyuki) has begun OEM provision of the "M3 Code Generator" portion its Web application development tool "ECOSS Solutions M3" (M3) to System Integrator (Head Office: Saitama, President: Hiroyuki Umeda). System Integrator will begin sales of this OEM product under the "SI Object Browser AP for .NET" on December 4, 2006.
The "SI Object Browser" series is made up of the Oracle development tool "SI Object Browser," and the database specification support tool "SI Object Browser ER." Since the product's release in June of 1997, the product line has sold over 86,407 licenses (as of September 2006).
"SI Object Browser AP" is a Web application development tool based on the program source code generation tool, "M3 Code Generator." For the "SI Object Browser" OEM, ECOSS customized the tool for compatibility with the "SI Object Browser ER" data modeling tool. By using "Object Browser AP," source code such as ASP.NET and C# can be generated directly from design specifications (entity definition documents) created with "SI Object Browser ER." Because source code is generated directly from the documents, coding time is significantly reduced. Also, because the code is generated using "best practice" methods, time for debugging and testing can also be reduced.
Through the use of "SI Object Browser ER" and "SI Object Browser AP," a seamless flow, from database to ER diagram, entity definition to source code, can be implemented. "SI Object Browser AP" to be released on December 4th is compatible with Microsoft's .NET Framework 2.0, and a Java version compatible with Java 5 is soon to be released.
